Exercise is more important than you realize. Once you start accepting that you aren't getting any younger (no matter what age you are) you would get active in a heart beat. Here's 5 reasons why you should workout:
Limit the chances of limiting yourself. As you get older, your body gets all tight and loses mobility fairly quickly. Without daily movement or stretching, it won't take long for aches and pains to show up out of nowhere. Think about the things you take for granted today. Being able to get out of bed with no pain, going out for a night on the town with friends, or going to an amusement park. These are just mere morsels of what people actually do during their lifetime but if you don't put great care into your body, don't expect it to reward you.
As people age they lose bone density, particularly women. The body deteriorates as it ages. If you are taking care of your body, it will slow down the process. Lifting weights and remaining active encourages the body to build muscle and maintain bone density. Bones remain strong because it needs to be strong enough to support the body's muscles.
Be ready for a possible apocalypse. This is for all my "The Walking Dead" fans. We are in the fantasy realm here, but you can never be too careful. Being fit enough to run for a decent period of time while being able to lift a reasonable amount of weight will increase your chances of survival ten fold. Play it safe and run that extra mile.
Exercising is good for the skin! By sweating, you are opening up your pores allowing excess water and oil to seep out of your skin. Sweating also takes out bacteria from within your pores and leaves them on the surface of the skin, making it easier to clean off. Exercising also produces more blood flow, which allows the skin to have better circulation and leaves a healthy glow on your face! Keep in mind that a little sweat never hurt nobody.
Having sinus problems from allergies? Go for a run! Although temporary, running will reduce congestion, sometimes almost completely, when you have plugged nasal passages due to allergies. This is because in order for the body to maintain the same amount of force, it needs to pump more blood in order to carry more oxygen through the body. The blood vessels expand in your nose and allow more oxygen to pass through, making it easier to breathe.
Please don't be afraid to exercise! Know that it is important for both your physical and your mental health! Working out reduces lots of stress. Go take a hike this weekend and feel the difference in comparison to last week.
