YES MISS LADY. We have all been there. How can your boss possibly believe that you could get all those emails sent out along with the creative strategy, blog post, meetings, and on top of that, getting everyone coffee?
That's a situation most people would love to forgive and forget minus the forgive. All that can't happen in the 30 minutes of precious time your boss allotted you.
Here are the ways you can handle the stress of being over worked at the office or at home while maintaining some, if not, all your sanity:
Take some ME time for yourself.
This can and SHOULD include activities that make you happy. Treat yourself! It is really important for you to schedule time for yourself because it is very easy for us to get off centered and lose ourselves when we are busy living our hectic lives. Taking the time out of your day to give back to yourself is one of the kindest gestures you could offer, both physically and mentally.
Get a substantial amount of sleep.
Seven to eight hours should do it. If it is difficult for you to get rest, try and listen to guided meditations and relax your mind. Living the boss life that you are, it comes as no surprise for chronic sleeplessness with all the deadlines, dramas, and not to mention, LIFE on your mind.
Keep lines of communication open.
Communication is EVERYTHING. Don't be one of those passive-aggressive employees secretly ill-wishing their boss. As we know, being passive-aggressive in anything is a no-go. Calmly explain to him everything will be taken care of, but at a different pace than expected. Explain how you feel, and be honest. Don't allow something so simple as speaking your mind be the reason that inhibits your progress throughout the day and most importantly... your happiness!
Focus on the present instead of worrying about what could happen in the future.
By focusing on the present, you are able to think clearer and get things done efficiently. This will save you time and money considering after work you won't get that drink at the bar to de-stress like last week. (If this doesn't apply to you, why are you reading this post?)
Take a cleansing yoga breath.
Part of being healthy includes your happiness too. Whenever you're feeling frustrated, take a deep breath in the nose, hold it for five long seconds, and let your breath out through your mouth. Be sure to focus on the negative energy, tight spots and pressure point areas leaving the body and having a relaxed demeanor to replace it afterwards.
It's tea time!
Chamomile tea is famously known for its soothing properties, so don't be afraid to drink it all day if you have to. Not to mention, it's a lot better than drinking your favorite soda at the office. Pro tip: add some honey to your cup of warm hugs. A little sugar never hurt nobody.
Arrive to the office with a positive mindset.
Everything we believe to exist, inevitably does. If we decide for ourselves that our boss is the absolute worst, then he absolutely is! The human mind is so powerful...powerful enough to frame our realities. Therefore, we control our destiny and the way we see our environment. Once you become a pro at achieving this empire state-of-mind, nothing, not even your boss, can shake your beautiful, sunny day.
