Do you sometimes feel like this turtle, you keep trying and trying but you're getting nowhere? Read on to see if you have the right mindset for success:
Make sure your mind is clear. Opportunities present themselves in funny ways sometimes. They come when you least expect it, and sometimes, they come ironically. I think it's important to have a clear mindset when you hit a gridlock because you already have the answers to the reason why you aren't moving forward. All you need to do is clear your mind and think without any biases or expectations.
Refrain from setting limitations on yourself. The "Glass Ceiling" effect does not only apply to women... it applies to our minds. We set our own limitations on ourselves knowing that it's only going to make things worse. Imagine if we actually took advantage of that one 'crazy' idea we had... what would have happened if we took advantage of this idea and devoted our time and effort to it? The possibilities are endless and because of this, it is worthy of exploring.
Be an opportunity seeker. Although this is pretty self explanatory, sometimes it's nice to hear a little reminder. In order to get opportunities we have to either seek them or put ourselves in the right position to get that opportunity. Seeking an opportunity is like going out of your way to network with good people to make great connections with other amazing people. Seeking opportunities means realizing that the opportunities don't present themselves but that we present ourselves to the it. Put yourself in the right position for success and you will have a better chance of succeeding.
Have the mindset that succeeding doesn't exist without failing. Think of Thomas Jefferson and his most famous creation. Without failing 10,000 times he would not have created the light bulb. Failures lead to success, learning, and growth. Without growth there is no change. Without learning there is no analysis as to what didn't work before.
Strategize your hard work. Make sure all of your hard-earned efforts are going along with a plan. There is nothing more frustrating than putting so much effort into something figuring out later that you need to go a different direction. Be sure to allocate all of your blood sweat and tears into a task that will benefit you in the future. Whether that relates to people you're emotionally invested in or old habits that you just can't let go, be honest with yourself and ask the question "Is this beneficial for my advancement?"
